Set In Stone
03:32
|
|||
Yes I know it's no excuse.
But it's not what's left to gain, it's the risk of what's to lose.
And all my friends say "have some fun,
Go outside, look up and smile more, and celebrate - you're young!"
My future lies at the bottom of a bottle or a bay.
I can't believe that just last week can feel so far away.
They'll tell me "life's not set in stone."
But my problem is this state of mind that's all I've ever known.
And it's finally clear to me.
Clearer than the hole inside my chest where my heart should be.
Just like the hole that's in my head.
Yeah, well, I got lucky once it'll happen again.
My future lies at the bottom of a bottle or a bay.
I can't believe that just last week can feel so far away.
They'll tell me "life's not set in stone."
But my problem is this state of mind that's all I'll ever know.

Hearts Go Cold
05:28
|

They said that you are awful sweet,
And I can see just what they mean.
A red dress or a wedding gown,
Which would I prefer to see you in?
And you'll say "the room is freezing,"
And I'll say "it's forty three degrees.
The heater must be broken,
But the price is surely set to please,
And ease our large financial burden
That nearly brought us to our knees."
Hearts go cold
When the truth is known.
It must have taken practice
For you to pull your sharp mental gymnastics.
Your heart's like a fruit basket
That turns out to be just cold, hard plastic.
And you'd say "It's always so absurd
When you say that you see me as pure.
But darling, rest assured
It's just your vision that's obscured."
It's all a blur after that.
But I'm for sure not coming back.
That's a fact.
Hearts go cold
When the truth is known.
I don't mind breaking up but please don't
Take your time with leaving my life.
Hearts go cold
When the truth is known.
I don't mind breaking up but please don't
Take your time with leaving my life tonight.

Graduation Day
03:08
|
|||
Some doors will open while others shut.
Stick to your plans, it's the only way.
Life changes plans and leads you astray.
Fond memories of your friends will last.
They're idealized visions of the past.
Your smile's contradicted by your sad eyes.
You want to believe in your hopeless lies.
This is the end
For you and your friends.
Recklessly driving down empty streets.
Constantly wondering if he cheats.
Tell all your friends that you're feeling fine.
They'll never know that you lied this time.
Your graduation caught you off guard.
You promise you'll try, possibly too hard.
Last days with friends will bring you to tears.
Realizations confirm your fears.
This is the end
For you and your friends.
